Connecting Angels is a 501(c)3 Public Charity organization based in the USA. It was founded in 2014 by Mah Mekolle, on a simple mission, to connect with others to do random acts of kindness for those in need. Borne of a strong desire to be a channel of peace and love to those she encountered, Mah recognized that the only way to share this light was through the power of connection.
Mah understood and felt very deeply, the plights of many in the world, such as the poor, the homeless, and also the marginalized individuals suffering with disabilities. Born and raised in Cameroon, West Africa, Mah journeyed to the United States of America in 2003 as a student, to improve the quality of her life, her family, as well as those she left behind. This journey and transition was tough for this young adult, who had to build a whole new life from the ground up, relying on the kindness of others at various stages of her journey. She started as a Nurse Aid, caring for seniors in an Assisted Living facility in Los Angeles, where she served a vulnerable population of seniors with different areas of vulnerability including individuals with disabilities and illness. The fire was lit, to succeed and realize the dream to help those who can not afford such services, especially those in her home continent of Africa. Today, she is a wife and mother to two boys, working as a Life Coach, Registered Nurse, and a Philanthropist, sharing her heart and taking her message of love to those in need, one act of kindness at a time.
” I believe that on this earth, we are all angels, but some angels have no wings; so if we connect our wings, we can all fly. ” ~ Mah Mekolle
Mah was raised in a culture of giving, and today she models her organization after the same principles she grew up with, that each one of us, have something special that can change another’s life positively if we are willing to serve. Growing up, one of six children and hundreds of extended family, these concepts stood out:
- When it comes to giving, nothing is too small that you can not share, if you wait till all your needs are met, you will never help anyone
- Giving does not end with those you know but extends to those you do not know, and giving comes in many forms if you are willing to explore them.
- Most of all, let love be the cornerstone on which your giving stands.
Today, through Connecting Angels, Mah invites anyone, who at any point in life, has felt the deep desire to be a part of something bigger than their immediate circumstance, who yearns to fulfill their purpose to touch someone else’s life, who seeks to be a channel to connect and do something good, this is your home. Share your gifts, your resources, your talents, and your connections for the purpose of advancing goodness in the world. It is in giving that we receive, in loving, that we are loved.
